Pros: Perfect steaks, great quality makes this grill a good value even though its expensive.
Cons: Very expensive, few additional features over much less expensive Weber Genesis Silver-C. Cheap wheels
The Bottom Line: Expensive and worth it. This is a serious cooking appliance, compare it to the price of a good stove. Buy the Silver-C and save $400 by putting it together yourself.

| trostlc's Full Review: Weber-Stephen Products Genesis Gold C Premium (LP)... |
I purchased this grill after burning my last bratwurst on my prior Char-broil. I had many years experience with a weber charcoal grill and was always impressed by the design and build quality of that grill. Weber seems to put a lot of time into designing and building their grills. They also do a lot of research on the actual use of their grills, which helps you get the most out of yours and helps them continually improve their line. These people know grilling! I purchased mine as an in-store demo so I got a good deal, but it was very dirty. I brought it home, cleaned it up, hooked up the gas, and everything worked perfectly the first time.
The Genesis-C series has 3 burners, and 2 large cast iron grates. It uses "flavorizer bars" over the 3 burners which prevents flare-ups that were all to common on my char-broil. The 3 burners make it very easy to use the "indirect" method of cooking that Weber's are famous for. You heat up and sear your food with all 3 burners on high, then turn off the center burners, reduce heat on the other 2 and cook you food indirectly. I think this actually uses less gas than my much smaller char-broil. The cast-iron grilling surface must be seasoned before use by coating it with oil and heating over medium heat for several hours. The result is a non-stick grilling surface that leaves those great little black stripes on your food that shows it's been seared perfectly. This is a serious cooking appliance, weber provides a great recipe book that shows how you can do practically all your cooking on this grill. Using the indirect method, you can do roasts, turkeys, whole fish, vegetables, just about anything. The additional side-burner is convenient for preparing entire meals outdoors (which helps keep the kitchen cool in the summer), but in truth we don't use it much and you could save a lot of money getting the same grill without this feature (the B series). You can also save a lot of money by getting the Genesis Silver-C which differs from this one in only a few minor ways and in one major one - you have to put it together yourself. A major hassle with my char-broil that I could not bring myself to undertake again.
If I had to fault it, I would say the wheels feel kind of cheap. This is a very heavy grill and I feel like they might break were I to roll it around a lot.
