I've owned a number of grills (both gas and charcoal), and the Weber 22.5" charcoal grill is my favorite.

The construction is more solid than other similar models; the sheet metal shell is heavier and should last a lot longer than the thinner walls of the competition.
One small plus is the fact that the handles are already welded to the shell...there's not screwing in the parts with a bag of screws. These handles are PERMANENT. Same goes for the top vent; it's already attached. Further still...the vent construction seems to be a thicker metal, which should last longer.
The legs attach easily and the wheels are secured with lockpush-type nuts. Two hits of the hammer and they are attached.
The ash catcher is rather lightweight and attached by simply sitting the disk on three leg mounted clips. At first, you might think...flimsy. But after using it a few times, you'll appreciate the ease of cleaning. The ash catcher does an overall fine job of holding the dropping ash(as long as there's no strong breeze. I would have preferred the sides of the ash catcher to be a bit taller and not so much a flat disk design. Weber does offer an upgrade model with a slide-out ash catcher for those who insist on that feature. However, the one on the silver model works fine overall.
The lower vent assembly fits together easily and can be used as a vent lever ...or to assist in cleaning out the ash residue in the bottom of the grill(just sweep the blades back and forth to push the ashes through the vents).
Grill surface lifts out easily to clean and prepare charcoals.
Weber suggests NOT using lighter fluid due to the flavor contamination, and recommends newspaper to start coals. I found that simple kindling works better and adds to the wood-fire flavor. Small sticks from your yard work great. Keep a bucket of them handy and use to light the charcoal. This also helps keep your yard clear of small sticks and twigs!
Instruction booklet details cooking techniques and really helped my own backyard cookout results.
This grill should last a long time. Classic design.
