| travislclever's Full Review: Cuisinart DFP-11 Deluxe 11 Cups Food Processor |
Let me say that I have had three very cheap, very useless food processors in the past. I know these machines, and you can love them or hate them. I hated them.
One of my aunts had bought me a beautiful, shiny 10 - cup food processor that was very attractive and fit in wonderfully on my counter. I had begun to make different recipes with this machine, and as I processed and created different meals I found that the machine was loud - VERY loud. So loud, in fact, my neighbor called to ask if I was okay! Even after the "jet fighter" machine, each processor had different problems - too small of a bowl, too loud, no dough blade, small feed tube, LOTS of parts to wash. I was fed up with these machines...I was done!
One day, though, as I was walking through an upscale discount store, I had found the Cuisinart 11 cup food processor. I looked at the box, at the display, but I didn't buy it at first. I came home and researched the machine...when I went back, I new everything there was t know about the Cuisinart. I also must add that this is a $299.99 retail item that I purchased for $99.99. Otherwise I would be chopping and mixing by hand!
My model, DFP(Deluxe food processor), came with the following parts - the motor base, equipped with a 1 1/2 ft. cord, and two push buttons (on and pulse/of), the Lexan 11 cup bowl, the bowl lid with extra large capacity feed tube and small feed tube, the stainless steel "S" blade, the dough blade, the 6 mm shredding disk and the 6 mm slicing disk.
Putting together the Cuisinart is a snap! Literally, you snap all of the parts together and you are ready to cook!
The motor base, which holds the processor together, is quiet and attractive on any counter. Four (4) non-slip skid pads on the small legs of the machine reduce the allowance of movement during operation.
The "S" blade is the standard blade for all your mixing, chopping, whipping, blending, mincing, and dicing needs. It is made of a very sharp stainless steel material, and fits into the bowl easily.
The Dough blade is used for, you guessed it! Making dough. It is only used when you are using more that three (3) cups of flour in the machine.
The shredding disk is used for shredding different types of hard foods. Use it for cheese, cabbage, carrots, onions, potatoes everything you need to shred.
The Slicing disk is for slicing any foods that need slicing. Celery, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, squash, a variety of vegetables and meat products as well.
All of the parts, sans motor base, are dishwasher safe. A simple hint, however - wash these items top rack only. Putting the cover, feed tubes or bowl on the bottom rack can make these items warp and not configure together after washing.
Now is my favorite part - telling readers the WONDERFULLNESS of this machine! It takes up less space than a stand mixer, and does more than a mixer! I use mine all winter to make desserts for holiday parties and gatherings. It's also a god send using the Cuisinart when our garden grows in the summer - sliced tomatoes for fried-green tomatoes, or jalapeņos for spicy salsa. It truly is a miracle machine!
Oh, did I mention COOKIES? This machine does everything for a fresh batch of homemade, delicious cookies. All you have to do is cream the wet ingredients in the bottom of the bowl, and layer the flour and chocolate chips on top - pulse six (6) times and you're ready to bake!
I love my Cuisinart. It takes the hassle out of cooking big OR small meals. I wouldnt trade it for anything.
