I had been given two food processors previously but never used them because they seemed complicated and difficult to use. I was a little scared to actually use them. Then a friend recommended I try the Cuisinart DLC-5 model. I found it on sale and purchased it. I even went home and read the easy instructions and tried it right away. Well, to my surprise it was easy to use and easy to clean. It came with a slicing and grating attachment. I got the processor at a tremendous sale price of $99.I don't know how I managed to cook without this miracle machine. It takes only seconds for slicing apples for my pies. It is a pleasure at Hanukkah when I have to grate 8 pounds of potatoes for latkes. I now use it to make bread crumbs from my stale bread. It is a must have for any kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!It makes a great gift for anyone who is learning to cook or even an old pro. I can't say enough good things about it. It is so nice when a product comes along that does what it says it will do - make life easier in the kitchen!
