| meg11206's Full Review: Dependable Auto Shippers |
On December 19, 2007, I dropped my car off at the San Diego terminal. I paid an extra $250 (total cost $884) to ensure my car would arrive in Ohio by December 28, 2007, as I am a student and need transportation to and from class.
I was told in person and in writing that my car would arrive on time unless; there were Acts of God. I was also able to track the location of my car using a GPS system. My car did not leave San Diego until the first of the year. I called everyday and sometimes more than once a day to check the status of my car. I was often placed on hold for 30-45 minutes. The estimated time of arrival for my car had been changed to January 2nd. It was then changed to January 5th. I live in Cleveland and attend college in Columbus, Ohio. On December 5th, DAS told me there was a 99.9% chance my car would be in Cleveland within a day, so I drove up. My car never made it. I was then told it would be there by the 9th and drove up to pick it up, and again it never made it. I have a copy of all of the contacts/outcomes made with DAS.
At this point, January 9th, I questioned the customer service representatives about the condition of my car and was told my car was in perfect condition, but the truck broke down. Again, DAS assured me that a new truck would be there and my car would be reloaded and would be to Cleveland by January 12th. I drove up to Cleveland and waited but my car of course did not arrive. I even contacted the Cleveland terminal and was told my car was on a list to arrive on January13th. It did not.
On Monday, January 14th, I was told that my car was on a carrier that was broken down and it would take 2 weeks for the carrier to get fixed. I was again told my car was not damaged but stuck on a carrier that needed to be fixed in order to lower my car off.
I received the shocking call on the afternoon of January 15, 2008 to tell me my car had been involved in a wreck. I asked questions such as What kind of wreck was my car in?, When did the wreck occur?, Why was I not notified of this until today?. I was told by the head of customer service that he could not answer my questions and that he would call me back the next day.
Today, Jan. 16, I found out that my car was in an accident on Jan. 6. This means I have been lied to for at least 10 days.
After just about totaling my car, DAS is now saying I have to pay the deductible, as well only giving me a partial refund for the car shipping cost. This is insane-Its been a month and I still have not seen by car-just pictures of it wrecked in who knows what state.
DAS has the absolute worst customer service that has lied to me and refuses to give me information about my car!
