Customer Service Experience:
Pros:Uhaul has the largest fleet of newer trucks. 15,000 helping hands along the way.
Cons:Customer ruin employees days. People just need to stop complaining and stop making things worst.
The Bottom Line: I recommend Uhaul. It is a great company. Any issues adress them to the manager and get them resolved in no time.
I have been working for Uhaul for 5 years. In those 5 years I can tell there is alot of families that hate how we operate. Our job is very difficult. Some people write reviews claiming we don't help, our trucks suck, pretty much saying Uhaul sucks. Our equipment is inspected every time it comes in. We check for flat tires, non working lights, we ask the customer if they had any issues, anything we should fix, any check engine lights come on etc. At the center level we do everything possible. specific we check tires, leaks, fluid, cracks, protrusions, etc. Everything is checked out in detail. I personally had a truck I inspected that was working perfectly. I rented the truck out and it comes back (same day) pretty much bent in half from the middle right by were the cab and box meet. Guess what i found out, truck was taken off roading and they
made it fly. How?, truck was driven on a ramp at about 50 mph and then crash landed. my point to this story is that we do now know what goes on when the truck is out on rental. We check it as much as we can but people abusing our trucks sometimes wont cause it to break down instantly. it might be a few rentals after when the innocent family just trying to move gets a truck that breaks down. It is not their fault and neither is itours. I see everyone badmouthing Uhaul like we are monsters. Since i started I have helped god knows how many people. and about 97 percent of those customer always leave happy. Uhaul deservesthe credit for that. Just yesterday I had an incident were i was on my lunch. I went to the break room which is through a door behind the counter (another room out of customers view). I had one guy working the counter and one guy working the yard (we are a small lot) Customer comes inside yelling at me demanding that I help him, me as the good guy I go and help and what does he do to me. he yells at me and says he hates us, hates how we operate, and will never use us no more. Am I the bad guy? i was on my break and helped this customer without fighting with him. After that my day was ruined. I had half of my meal (breakfeast) at 2 pm and didn't even enjoy it because me as the good guy I helped him out. This is just one of the cases I can mention were customer treat us like we are a piece of crap. Is this fair? People have options. I read reviews here were customer had the option to switch out equipment but didn't. They says they felt their life's were in danger because of faulty equipment. Why would you continue driving when your life is in danger?. I think people should just stop crying to get money from this company. Things happen. Why can some people just get it through their heads things happen. its part of life. I bought a brand new car. it has 75 miles when I got it and guess what. It broke down. Again "THINGS HAPPEN". Instead of yelling and saying they are a worthless company and etc etc. I explained the issue told them what had happened due to the car breaking down and guess what. Another car got extra items for free, first month payment was waived and i strongly beleive I got this because I came in as a civilized person and talked just like a normal huma being does. Not yell and fight and call people names n all tht. Hope to see more people rent from us. Uhaul is #1 in the moving buissness that is why people keep coming back to us.
