I bought this Maytag because of the Cool keeper. That is the place in the door you can keep your milk and juices and it is supposed to keep them a few degrees cooler. It has a vent coming directly from the freezer and, when your milk is less than half full, can actually freeze your milk! That feature I do love. It works well and it is great to be able to get an ice cold glass of milk when ever you want. You can adjust the vent to allow lees or more cold air in, to prevent your milk from freezing.
Another selling point of the Maytag is that it keeps your food overall cooler, to maintain freshness. Well, it does that, also. So much so that it freezes the food in the lower drawers. There is another vent down there that comes directly from the freezer. There is a foam piece that covers much of the hole, and as it is foam, MANY people remove it along with all the other foam inside the frig, DONT! That is what is supposed to keep the food in the lower drawers from freezing. I had to get another one and unfortunately, in the lower drawers, my food is still freezing.
I wish I'd have gotten a Kitchen Aid.
