Pros: Metal construction, good power
Cons: Quit first day.
I just purchased this machine for my wife, and I also thought I would try it for some light upholstry work for some of the old cars I restore. I made the decision to purchase this after seeing an in store demonstration. It was impressive with the machine sewing a 4 thread serge and sewing leather to paint stirring sticks. A cast metal housing with an attractive finish and all mechanical
operation in addition to a 25 year warranty convinced me to purchase. We had to order the machine as the sales folks were out of stock. Our first day of use my wife hemmed a couple pair of Levis for my son and the machine ran fine. She then decided to run a zig zag stitch along
the perimeter of some light weight material and the machine would not bottom feed or the hook would not pick up the upper thread to complete a machine cycle. So it wouldn't sew. This is when we decided to do some web research and found this review here at Epinions. Would I purchase again I can't say at the moment, If I can get my problems resolved with the machine and have no further issues I would consider it. Simplicity is the key to genius for me. I like well engineered/made products that are truly designed to last. This machine looks like it should meet this criteria. I hope to not be disappointed.
