I've experienced no problem with my 2000 ATS. I owned a Bernina prior to this and this machine is much nicer. The Bernina jumped all over my sewing table even with a rubber pad under it. The White is a heavy enough machine where it stays stable while serging. The White is a lot easier to thread and the stitches are uniform. I have used this machine on clothing and crafts and found it to perform in a satisfactory manner. I have heard from two other White owners that they experienced trouble with the lower cutting knife, but both were using the machine on heavy material. I do not use this on heavy duty denim or any type of heavy duty material, so I cannot speak as to how it would perform in that situation. However, the rolled hem, flat lock and differential feed have been highly satisfactory each time I have used them. I considered buying an Elna at the time I purchased my White, but I did not want to spend the extra cash. At one time this machine was recommended by Consumer's Report and I based my purchase on that recommendation. So far it has performed well.
