Overall I am very happy with this machine. It has more stitches than I will ever need and has been very durable for the two years that I have owned it. The stitch selector is easy to use for the beginner, showing recommended stitch length right on the dial. The adjustable needle position is one feature I would have never thought about and use constantly. The automatic tension seems to work well, and I think you can adjust it manually as well if you need to. The machine came with a very good video showing techniques and how to use and care for the machine.
There are two things I have not been as happy with. The first is the light, which casts shadows and I normally have to bring a desk lamp over if I am sewing at night. The second is the button-holer. I chose this machine as one of the two I could afford with a one-step button-holer, and I have found that the foot is very long and often gets caught up on a seam or edge of the project, making it difficult if not impossible to get the button hole in. I also think that it sizes the button holes a little large and usually look for a button slightly smaller than the one I will use on the project to do the sizing with.
