For a $25 investment, you can curtail your over-spending at coffee shop drive-thru windows. The Black 'n Decker Brew and Go Personal Coffee Maker is making my life simpler.
First of all, it is very seldom that anyone else in our house drinks coffee, except for me. And even after years of failed attempts, I have yet to figure the accurate formula for brewing just a couple of cups in a full size coffee maker. This handy machine solves both dilemmas.
I was frequently buying coffee at drive-thrus. But at around $2.50 per day, I was paying for one of these machines in less than two weeks. It seemed absurd. So I purchased one. We have a Black and Decker store nearby which sells refurbished items. Although I have listed the average price of this machine at $25, I actually only paid $15, as I purchased a refurbished unit. Mine did not come with the extra "to-go" cup that most come with.
This was still a great deal. Each morning I put between two and three teaspoons full of my own ground coffee into the tray, pour in the water, and within a couple of minutes I have a hot, delicious cup of fresh-brewed coffee ready to accompany me as I leave the house.
Is it all sunshine and cherries? No. But the good certainly and significantly outweighs the bad. One must be extremely careful when pouring the water into this machine, as it is a rather small opening. I tend to slop much of it behind the machine and onto the counter top. However this is a small price to pay for the convenience of brewing my coffee directly into the handy travel mug.
This coffee maker would be a great gift for single folks or for couple who commute, as they typically do come with two travel mugs. It would also make an ideal gift for a college student to keep in his or her dorm.
