Parts nightmare
Written: Sep 17, 2002
Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros:auto-shut off, sneak-a-cup feature
Cons:basket design, parts replacement procedures
The Bottom Line: Coffeemaker OK, just don't ever need a replacement part!
I liked the coffeemaker, even getting used to the basket design. The stop button and spring fell off, got thrown away accidentally. Tried to explain to the B&D parts people, told me I needed whole basket (cost of 10.47 on my credit card). Sent me 2, still no button. Third time had guy say oh, you need stop actuator and spring. Said he'd mail them right out. Asked about price difference, told me they didn't like to credit charge cards. Called back to find price & another girl told me I needed whole basket. Makes me want to scream. Told her guy was sending me button - I asked price of button and spring - $19 and some change they told me, more than a whole basket. What doesn't make sense here????
