| RONinPC's Full Review: Bodum Java |
We have had two Bodum Coffee presses, a small and a large, for as long as we have been married. They have survived four espresso machines, countless drip coffee pots, two Italian espresso pots, and an electric perk. The only pot that has lasted as long is our camping cowboy coffee pot (the product of which is questionable at best).
When ground correctly (medium to fine, but not to the point that any powdering occurs) the coffee is rich and flavorful. The key is of course to have the water at a boil, the coffee measured precisely, and the cups ready. If you plan on using your Bodum for multiple cups, buy the coddle for it as the coffee will become cold quickly.
The Bodum makes a great gift, exceptional coffee and a nice morning ritual. The carafes break easily but are also readily available. I recommend them highly, every coffee drinker should have one.
