Good value for two functions - blender and food processor. Blender is very good. The food processor is better than a mini chopper. For those who have limited space, this is a good option.
Prior to this purchase, I had been using an Oster blender with chopper attachment that still worked, but did not have the capability to dice vegetables. I wanted something that could dice tomatoes, chop sun dried tomatoes, and finely chop herbs for my infamous sundried tomato basil dip and tomato quiche. The Oster was not up to the challenge.
I went shopping for a food processor and came home with this dual use Cuisinart machine. I was dismayed that only shiny silver was available at Fortunoff and Kohl's. The machine does not match my other appliances which are different, stainless steel or black. Nonetheless, it seemed like a better choice than spending over $100 on a stand alone food processor, especially since I had no place to put such a huge machine. I really wanted the food processor primarily for chopping, so a lot of the food processor features would be wasted on me.
The food processor was put to immediate use. I washed all the attachments in the dishwasher, no problems. I attempted to dice tomatoes and quickly found out how powerful the machine is. I over "pulsed" and pureed instead of diced. Fortunately, I had not put them all in and was able to dice the next batch. I had no problems chopping the sundried tomatoes and the fresh basil. They were perfect. We made frozen drinks with the blender and they too were perfect.
