I got this as a gift from my mother. I needed both a food processor and a blender, and she figured that this would save space in my tiny city apartment.
It did. But it was a disappointment from the beginning. Now, at the time I got this, I was a single woman, so having only a small capacity (3-cups) was fine. But it never did its job properly, and I think it has something to do with its smaller size.
The first thing I did was make potato leek soup. I had to pour my 6 servings of soup into the blender in batches. It took FOREVER to blend--even on the highest setting (which makes a noise like a jet landing).
It was downhill from there. The food processor part is not good for anything but grating cheese. I tried chocolate--the blades stopped. I tried frozen bananas. The blades stopped. I tried crushing ice in the blender. The blades stopped.
Actually, that's not accurate: in the food processor, anything UNDER the blades is processed properly. Everything else is shoved up to the lid and doesn't even get touched by the blades. No amount of shaking and banging can get the stuff back down onto the blades.
What a disappointment! I'm going to get a full-size food processor and blender.
