I received this coffeemaker as a gift 3 years ago and it has given me nothing but trouble since. As I type this, it is peeing water all over my countertops! I know this item cost approx. $250 CDN and if it wasn't for that I would have used it for a boat anchor long ago.
The first 6 months I had the machine, it was in the shop at least 4 times. There were problems with the microchip, the sensor, it leaks like a sieve, and like the previous writer, I've never been able to get a hot latte.
I have sent long emails to DeLonghi, both their customer service and sales departments, and have NEVER received the courtesy of a reply.
A friend ordered a new coffee maker through eBay and was anticipating its arrival...when I learned it was a DeLonghi, I cautioned him! Sure enough, he had problems with it. I will steer clear of all DeLonghi products from now on. I advise everyone else to as well. There are much better products out there, with much better support from the company!
