Pros: great price and overall a good machine
Cons: No room for regular size mug, and continues to drip after shot done.
The Bottom Line: For light home or office use, it is a good deal.

I purchased the Gaggia Carezza espresso machine for my office after a great deal of research on the internet. What attracted me to this machine was the sleek look, price, gaggia reputation, and many user friendly features. The model we received is a grey thermo plastic material. It came with 2 filter baskets, one for a single shot, and one for a double shot. The filter baskets are heavy and seem much more sturdy than some models at this price range. It has a 16 bar pump, 30 cup removable water reservoir, which can be filled from the top of the machine. It has illuminated switches, which tell you when the machine is on, and when it has heated the water. An "anti-drip" system and "turbo frother" attachment are also some of its features.
We have had this machine in our office for 5 months, and make about 2-3 espresso a day. I have only two complaints with this machine. First, the space between the espresso filter and the drip pan is very small, which makes it impossible to put even a small mug in there. I am a little confused about the "anti-drip" system because no matter what I do the espresso will continue to drip after it has pulled the shot and you turn the machine off. By the way, the user determines how long the machine will pull a shot, so you have to eyeball when the espresso looks like it is getting diluted. It does make a good crema-especially when you perfect tamping the espresso grounds. The frothing system works great. It's fast and always gets the milk hot, with perfect froth. I have found it very easy to use, and easy to clean.
Overall, the Gaggia Carezza works well. I am happy with the machine, but am always keeping my eye out for a bigger and better one.
