Thanks for sharing your experience with this coffee maker.
I agree the pause-and-pour feature isn't reliable. Shortly after I received a replacement filter basket from customer service, the valve began to stick.
In my case, this isn't a fatal flaw, as I usually brew about 8 or 9 cups of coffee and rarely rely on the pause-and-pour feature.
Perhaps I'll update my review some time to address this.

I was very dissatisfied with my Kitchen Aid coffeemaker. Pause and pour was NOT reliable. It would brew 8 cups nicely but it did a poor job trying to brew 12 cups. Customer service was helpful. First they sent replacement parts. Then they replaced the entire coffeemaker. Finally, I had to return it for a refund. (I'm currently waiting for my refund.) I recommend the Braun. It is excellent - flavor and reliability.

Thank you for all the information in this. I don't believe there's anything you missed telling us, and that's great!
It was interesting about the indicator for decalcifying the coffeemaker. I don't think I've seen that on any others.
Isn't it the truth about the size of the LED display? ha ha. I swear they think we must all be 12 years old with perfect eyesight.
