Pros:Has worked perfect every time/Can make large 2-Lb loafs
Cons:Does take up counter space (but what did you expect?)
The Bottom Line: We are well pleased with this purchase, and think it would be hard to beat, especially at the price we paid.

We have had ours for about 2 weeks and so far we are well pleased. We decided to get a bread machine and had read the high rating of this unit at Consumers Reports as well as the member reviews here, but funny enough it was somewhat hard to find. When I say hard to find I should point out that does not relate to just this model, but rather any bread machine, seems the novelty has wore off and they are now a seasonally stocked Christmas gift, or so we were told. Got ours in stock at sears and had them price match Walmart's on-line price (not stocked in stores).

I will not repeat what as been gone over here in depth but rather just dispute a couple cons that folks have mentioned.

First the claim that the unit is loud, I think this is vastly over stated here; perhaps it is louder compared to other bread machines, I wouldn't know, but if you compare it to an electric mixer then it is positively stealthy. And keep in mind the mixing/kneading process is perhaps 20 minutes of a 3-hour cycle.

Second we have had no problems with the extras dispenser, at least as far as during the standard pre-programmed cycles, we haven't tried custom cycles. Perhaps folks should give its mechanism a good clean; raisins to after all build up a sugary gum.

And finally someone said it left dough on the walls of the pan. We haven't seen this and as a matter of fact have been amazed at how well it picks up all the dough during the mixing process. Perhaps the case in question has more to do with the recipe then the machine.

I can understand folk's frustration with the math required for the advanced (timer) baking, and think they could have come up with something a bit more intuitive. But I think this is more a function of preventing people from accidentally allowing perishables to sit to long.
