Cons: Be sure you like the color, it is going to last FOREVER!
The Bottom Line: Cooking is easier and more fun when you have the right equipment. This is all that and more. Don't waste your time and money on inferior products.

The Classic KitchenAid is my favorite appliance in my kitchen. I love it on my counter. It is almost a status symbol. It says, "I love to cook. I am a good cook. And I am willing to invest in the best."
The KitchenAid Classic is durable and trouble free. My mother had this same model in her kitchen for 15 years. It was passed on to me. I used for three years and now my daughter has had it for five years. It hasn't needed any repairs at all. The most comparable mixer on the market would be the BOSCH. KitchenAide is easier to use, clean and more durable. KitchenAide has a removable guard to keep dry ingredients from flying out. The gurad also serves as a pour spout to add dry ingredients. The KitchenAide attachments are easy to remove and clean. The bowl can be immersed into water. Three standard attachments come with the orginal purchase: The K beater, which is for mixing items such as a cak mis, muffins, quick breads and mashed potatoes. The wisk, which is used for egg whites, angel food cake, and whipping cream. The bread hook: which is used to make yeast bread or any other items that requires kneading. The KitchenAide is a ten speed mixer with a lock to ensure the head of the appliance does not bounce up. The bowl is easly to lock inot place.
This is one appliance I do not want to hide in the cupboard. First, the design is simple and stylish. It is made in a variety of colors to enhance and decorate any counter. I had to have a red one to extenuate my soft yellow kitchen. My daughter had to have black to set a more dramatic mood in her kitchen. Pink has been the splash people have been looking for lately. My advice is be careful with the extreme colors, because the machine will last for ever. Second, I use it daily, if not several times a day. Some small appliances are cumbersome or complicated, not this one. It is easy to set, use and clean, so I don't save it to use for only the big projects. I use it for everything from breads to whipping cream. There are also attachments available to fit your every need from grinders to juicers. Financially, it is a very economical small appliance. Over the years, I have burned up the several motors of hand-mixers and less durable free-standing mixers. I make Christmas food gifts for all my neighbors and can make batch after batch without fear of harming my mixer. To me it was a cost effective investment.
Where can you buy this prize? First all look for sales. I have seen it as low as $169.00 and as high as $259.00. Look in home improvement centers, department stores in catalogues and on-line. Sometimes stores like Walmart have them on-line cheaper and the shipping is free if it is sent to the store. Don't mistake the Classic for the Professional 600. You will like the classic best. It fits under the your cupboards and is easier to work with and clean.
