I think I've had every brand of mixer through the years. I'm a good cook and I like to bake in particular. I've had at least 3 hand-held mixers as wedding gifts for the early years. Still, I inherited an old Sunbeam stand mixer from my grandmother and used it until it passed away somewhere in the late 1990's. It was a good appliance. May it rest in peace.

Thus began my search for a comparable mixer; one that could handle heavy cookie dough and also whip cream to a delicate fluff. This involved many disappointments, including a new and improved Sunbeam.
Then, Christmas came and I was presented with my Classic Kitchen Aid stand mixer. At first, she flirted with me, showing off masterfully kneading dough with her adept hooks and then she amused me with her pasta attachments, meat grinder and sausage stuffer. What a little minx! You can add lots of cool accessories and I have done so through the years.
I still have this work horse. I know when I die, my daughter and granddaughter will fight over it claiming some strange sentimental attachment when in fact, they want to cook like a pro.
Just as Dyson makes the best vacuum cleaners, Kitchen Aid makes the best mixers. There is simply no comparison. In fact, I'm even hinting for the hand-held Kitchen Aid this Christmas. I love to make mashed potatoes and hate to drag the stand mixer out.
Now that I'm an old granny, I bake more and more. I would not be able to do so without my Kitchen Aid Classic Stand Mixer. It's my Cadillac in the kitchen.
