toptechreviews's Full Review: KitchenAid K45SS Classic 250 Watts Stand Mixer
I got married Dec 14 of 2002, and you know what that means. Presents, presents, presents. I received the KitchenAid Classic as a gift and I did not get to open it until the middle of January. Since then I have used it about 20 times. It is great. One thing I like about the mixer is its heavy. Most people would disagree, but not me. I make a lot of homemade bread, and if you have every made bread before, you know that when the dough starts to thicken it can get very heavy. My other mixer would bounce all over the counter when I would mix. So I would have to sit there and "nurse" the mixer until the bread was mixed. Not this machine. It has a generous amount of weight to handle large amounts of foods.
Another plus that has surprised me is that the mixer is relatively quiet for as powerful as it is. I live in an apartment and I can quietly make bread for my wife while she is sleeping and not even wake her up. There is very little vibration and with the Lock feature, you don't have to worry about the tip kicking out of the bowl and splattering you. I am a big fan of this mixer. I promise you will feel special with this product.
