I person on epinions by the name Nanspeak said she did not like this steamer. I disagree. I have had this steamer for about 3 months and I must say, all I have recieved from it is well-steamed vegetables. What I first recognized was that it was, in fact, a durable steamer. I have always hated kitchen appliances which fail you but this one has held sturdy. It is built in solid plastic and metal parts. What I love the most is its cooking options, which there are many of. You can choose the degree to which you want your food steamed, and very speedily I have noticed, it gets the job done. The steamer is energy efficient, and consumes much less power than something, like say, a microwave. Most importantly, the food which this cooks always comes out delicious. My personal favorite is the steamed brocolli. There are actaully cook books which recommend steaming certain meats and veggies before cooking and come with great recipes which require such an appliance. I also admire how easy this steamer is to clean. A few minutes under the sink and I put it back on my top shelf to store once again. Overall, a solid cooking appliance. The only thing I did not like was I thought it was somewhat pricey. Other than that, I recommend it.
