I got this product as a housewarming gift because I let it be known that I could use a hand blender with a food processor attachment. I like this hand blender because it is so versatile, easy to use, and convenient. It even has its own holder to attach to the wall.
I use the beaker to make milkshakes for my husband. I think I could make the shakes directly in the glass, but I just got in the beaker habit and have not stopped doing it. I also use the beaker to make whipped skim milk! This is amazing to me, but if you use ice cold 100% fat free milk (it cannot have any fat) with the whipper you can create a desert topping that resembles whipped cream. Just add a little sweet and low, whip it up and put a dollop on your decadent brownie sundae. If you add some ice cold or frozen fruit after it reaches the creamy consistency and whip it some more, you will have a fat free dessert!
I love the food processor for small jobs. You put the chopper blade into the processor bowl, toss in some garlic, or whatever, twist on the lid, put the handblender blades into the grooves in the lid, pulse a few times, and you have minced garlic for your recipe. It also works well with herbs, especially parsley, onions, carrots, etc. And it is much easier to clean out with a little soapy water than a full sized food processor.
I use the hand blender to puree soup and sauce directly in the pot. This will not do the same thorough puree as a regular blender or processor, but if that is not an issue, then this is much more convenient.
This product is surprisingly easy to clean. You are not supposed to submerge the blender in water, but you can put the business end under the faucet to clean it. In order to minimize the need to scrub little blades, etc, you must clean the blender as soon as you are done using it.
This is probably the most useful single gadget in my kitchen. It does almost everything, except the dishes
