| epinionatorbob's Full Review: Frigidaire FWT449 Washer |
Put this puppy on a pedestal and not only will you save your back, you will save large amounts of water with peace of mind. Don't let the apparent size of the drum bother you, this baby can do the clothes. At first, we were considering the very expensive Maytag Imperial washer, but the price, well, lets just say that at that price, it would have to last 56 years in order to get our money's worth out of it. Compromise? Not hardly. This washer is half the price, but not half the washer. It is gentle on clothing and the spin cycle is so thorough that our dryer even dries a load before the next wash load is done!
My only suggestion is that you buy the washer with the dials on the front and that you place it on a 15 inch pedestal. That's right, you heard me, a 15 inch pedestal. I also built a little slide out shelf to put the laundry basket in front of the door. For those less crafty, an upside down laundry basket or small crate will work just as well. My wife is just as happy using regular laundry soap (Tide) too. No need to buy the liquid stuff. Occasionally she does clean out the tray, but it only takes a minute. Hey, if your really lazy, put it in the dishwasher!
Noise? This washer is INCREDIBLY quiet. The spin cycle sounds like its turbine driven (a super quiet turbine), but you won't believe your ears. The wash cycle sounds would put a baby to sleep. Efficient, energy saving, quiet, gentle, and half the price of the 'other brand'. This wonderful washer wins with worthy words from my wonderful wife.
