In June 0f 1999 I bought the new front load Fridgidaire washing machine, and since then I have been very happy with its performance.
The machine holds a lot of clothes, and seems to really get the dirt out. I finally got rid of my old top load washer and was amazed at what a washer that uses so very little water could do. Its wash cycle goes around in both directions, and also has never torn or ruined any clothes.
I have not had any repairs to the machine yet, and it has held up under some rigorous washings. It will hold queen size comforters, and large blankets. Because it has a good delicate cycle I have washed a number of articles that I never would have put in my top loader.
The oddest thing about it is the noises it makes. It sound like a jet engine taking off when it goes into spin cycle. I usually run my washer at bedtime, and at first it really unnerved me, but you do get used to it.
This washer also needs to be on really firm footing, I had to take it out and put in plywood under it because it really rocked and rolled.
Overall, I recommend this washer to people who want to save water and do some really large loads. It will also save money on soap, because I use about a third of what I used to use per load. I recommend getting the dryer that comes with it, because my old dryer couldn't hold a full load out of it, so I bought the one that matches, and now I have no problem.
