I purchased the HP 7350 to replace a Lexmark Z52 that had recently died. The HP reputation, features, and price attracted me to this model.
I primarily wanted a printer to print quality photos. On the first photo I printed, I used the "normal" quality setting and "premium" inkjet paper (about $7.00/500sheets). This yielded an average looking printout with subdued colors, very slight banding, and mediocre sharpness. This output was very similar to my old Z52. For the next printout I used the "normal" quality setting and HP Photo quality matte inkjet paper ($14 / 100 sheets). This yielded a nice printout suitable for framing. There was still a little banding but is was not easily noticeable. Using the "best" quality setting eliminated the banding. Last, I printed the photo using the "Best" quality setting and HP premium glossy photo paper ($15 / 20 sheets). This resulted in a beautiful photo with bright colors and good sharpness.
The memory card reader is a great added benefit. This has allowed me to easily save photos from other peoples cameras onto my PC. You can also write data from your PC to the cards so it really simplifies swapping digital photos and other data.
Other observations include: some of the paper feeding parts seem pretty flimsy but they have functioned properly so far, reports indicate this printer uses a fair amount of
ink so quality printouts are not cheap, Unlike others, I didn't think it was that noisy. It was definitely quieter then the Z52.
Overall, I am happy with the printer and would recommend it for those primarily interested in printing photos. If you are like me and find the "normal" quality prints on Everyday photo paper acceptable, you may be able to achieve economical prints.
