incredibly stupid review (Reply to this comment)
by elconde
This review is simply inane.
1. He does not own the item.
2. His total exposure to the item was 15 minutes.
3. He compares it to one of those things that slides on a chair and/or a hand massager, basically because they are cheaper, despite the fact that neither offers the convenience and/or performance of the item he's "reviewing."
4. Finally, the styling of this item is "ultra hip and trendy," and apparently would clash with the Rent A Center furniture in his trailer. Therefore, the item is unacceptable. He's basically saying it's designed too well.
Go back to Wal Mart and eat your Sam's Choice kibble dinner.

i haven't once seen a SLIP on massage which massages as good as a massage chair, according to him that so called SLIP massager for 100 dollars.. which just vibrates... thats all, yea it heats up, but im not buying a chair for heating... wen i need a massage, if you have ever taken one u'll know a difference between vibrating and a Massage.. if you seriosuly think that massage chair was in competition with that Slip on u are dreaming, two totally different things, u comparing apples with oranges here, a 100 dollar slip on and a heavy duty 700 dollar massage chair, i just don't get ur point, its looks very clear that you are just looking at the price, no features, nothing, and you are giving negative remarks on color, man grow up seriously, i mean nobody is forcing you to buy a green or a purple, you can go ahead just buy a descent black one... color is not even an issue here, i don't know what u smoking... but stupid reviews is a waste of both ur and my time...

I read HWZ1's review on the Ijoy and have to ask.
After a fifteen minute massage, were you still as uptight as you were when writing your review? The Ijoy to myself is a marvel. It is stylish,(unless you think that style went out with Little House on The Prairie) very comfortable, does an outstanding job of emulating a human massage, and above all the Ijoy is about half the money of the competition.I like that the control panel is built flush into the arm of the chair. I have seen other models that have the remote dangling from a wire. I would think that after routine usage that a wire would wear out. Not to mention the fact that a remote hooked to a wire is not very appealing to the eye. As far as the colors, yes there are fluorescents available. If you are a bit on the conservative side, you cant go wrong with the black. For myself, I bought the bright green! It's a massage chair folks, not a wedding dress! I told my girlfriend if she said anything about the color that she couldn't use it anymore. I think that she likes it by the occasional moan I hear when she is using it. I bought my chair at Sharper Image and added the extended warranty. If anything goes wrong with the chair, they come to the house and fix it. If it cant be fixed, they replace it. The warranty even covers normal wear and tear!! If you still think that your furniture should have a flower pattern and plastic protective covering on it, buy a heating pad. If you have joined us in the new millenium and don't mind sharing your Ijoy with every person that sees it in your house, this chair is a no brainer.

The rebut on hwz 1 (Reply to this comment)
by lovinit
I first saw the IJoy chair in an add (long before they started promoting it for X-mas) and thought the design was just trendy enough to polish off our new media room. It didn't seem like the typical old-school, bulky, Al Bundy style recliner. Needless to say, we waited till it finally rolled onto the retailers floors before committing to other office-style massage chairs.
Here's the scoop, the chair feels great. It's comfy, offers plenty of lumbar support, is a perfect size for anyone 6 ft. and under (I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5'4" and we both love them), and are very affordable in comparison to other chairs on the market with comparable massage features... we bought 4 for about the price of 2 of the more expensive ones with the same "technology" in the massage unit.
The scope on hwz1's review: If you read it carefully, you'll understand that they do not own one. They simply spent an insignificant amount of time on one at the mall. Do you get the feeling that hwz1 spent 15 minutes on every massage chair at every store in the mall, then decide to write a well thought out review on each of them? You might also notice by the continuous references to money that hwz1 has funding issues. Afterall, the ijoy is probably among the least expensive chairs available. What do you expect for 600 bucks? A real masseuse to jump out of the chair and ask you how you want it?
Chill partner! Don't bother writing reviews unless you actually own the product, or have spent a significant amount of time at a buddy's house who has an ijoy since you can't afford it. Sounds like you have trouble simply affording the delivery.
BTW- Not that it would make much of a difference to some as tight as hwz1, but delivery from Sharper Image is only 50 bucks, and they swing you a better deal on delivery if you buy more than one.
Pros: TRENDY STYLE, don't have to fumble around looking for a remote at the end of a cable (the controls are EASY TO FIND on the arm rest!), will spoil you within five minutes, no real need for heat cause the unit gets alittle warm (but not as good as a heater) after about the 10 minute mark. You'll feel it whether your wearing a fleece or a cotton sweat shirt... hwz1 would know this if he spent more time on the chair instead of rushing to the next store for another freebee, and the chair is surpisingly light (about 85lbs).
Cons: Sharper Image could have done without the puke green... maybe a charcoal grey or forest green, and they should offer some kind of bundle deal for the massaging ottoman. Just because we have alittle dough doesn't mean we want to spend a Grand outfitting the chairs we bought with foot massagers (hmmmm, come to think of it, what a great idea for my X-mas wish list).

Ijoy (Reply to this comment)

I went to sharper image before I went home from my shopping trip and I absolutely loved this chair. My mom is a massage therapist - (that other word is SO derogatory!) and NO chair will ever feel like her hands - but boy did it feel nice. And that nifty price tag - that was the reason why I would stay away. The colors - I thought - were pretty sexy.
Great review,
Danielle
