Re: Car Use? (Reply to this comment)

Personally found it difficult to use in the car if you didn't program a set playlist. If you set a playlist into the Slim-X prior to using in the car, I found that way of using the Slim-X more enjoyable.

Car Use? (Reply to this comment)
by j_london
Hello.
I'm interested in buying this mainly for car use. I was curious whether you have used it in your car, and how the remote system worked there. Granted, you prolly have some sweet system in your car, but I currently only have a discman with a car adapter. Just for your info, I'm also looking at the Sony D-CJ506CK with is very similar to my current discman so I'll know it will work well.
thanks.

I have enough trouble finding my lost CDs! Sometimes technology goes too far. Great review!

Thanks...
Knew I should have borrowed the manual too. The Slim-X is coming soon... but still playing with the RioRiot right now... haven't returned it yet.

The only thing I noticed is that you said, "If you lost the remote when listening to FM stations... then you can only listen to FM stations till you get another remote." Actually, if you hold down the play/pause button on the main unit it will switch back and forth from the radio to CD. Most of the player's functions can be controlled from the main unit, even though its more difficult. One just has to carefully study the lengthy manual. Hope you get your SlimX soon!
