Pros: Super small, stylish, cool remote w/ backlit LED, upgradable firmweare.
Cons: Remote fonts might be hard to read for some and crappy ear buds.
The Bottom Line: If you are on a budget dont buy it. Otherwise WHY BUY ANYTHING ELSE. This is by far the best player on the market at this time.

Why Buy This?
I've been looking around for a long time for a good portable device that would replace my old CD player. I tried looking at MiniDisc, MD, systems, flash memory MP3 Players, and hard drive types. I happened to stumble onto the MP3/CD player line and saw the versatility of it. For a long time I debated on getting a CD/MP3 player or an MD player. I found that CD/MP3 players was great in the fact that all the stored MP3 on that CD can be used anywhere, i.e. computers, DVD players, other CD/MP3 players. While the MD can only be played on a MD player. What was the last straw was the fact that the CD/MP3 player plays CDs. This is excellent for I can use this to dub as a CD player when need.
Why the iRiver iMP-350?
There are 5 reasons to buy this particular MP3/CD player: size, battery, remote, and features.
Size:
The size of this is amazingly small! Thinner than a deck of cards (16.7 mm thick to be exacta). The Width and length is not much bigger than the CD it's self. This is actually smaller than my old CD player.
Battery:
One of the problems of my old CD players was the amount of money it ate up in batteries. However, this is not a problem with the iRiver. They supply you with two, 2, rechargeable 1400mAh NiMh batteries. NOTE: These 1400mAh NiMh batteries aren't the AAA batteries we are used to seeing. These are thin batteries the size of a stick of gum. They are rechargeable via AC adapter (included) and last a very long time. What does this mean; it means that you won't have to buy any more batteries.
Remote:
One of the coolest features of a MD player is the fact that it has a remote. The best thing is the iRiver has the LED remote! It reads ID3 tags of the MP3 you’re listening to and many other function. This is one of the coolest parts of the iRiver. Through this remote you can control the volume, forward, rewind, play, EQ, etc. Therefore when you have the iRiver in your backpack you can control everything from the remote.
Features:
The iRiver offers you with a full array of features that would surprise you. It has a cool FM radio and channel memory. You won’t have to worry about searching for the right MP3 because iRiver supports both folders, and play lists. So if you burn your MP3s on a CDRW you could customize the playlist(s) anytime you want and be able to add or remove songs at your leisure. To cap it off the iRiver comes with a few preset EQs for you, along with one customizable one.
What are the bad parts of it?
This is not a perfect player by any means, it has its flaws. First the price is not super good, there are CD/MP3 players and MD players under the price of the iRiver, however, with less features. For some the font on the remote is hard to read. Lastly the included ear buds are very poorly made.
