*Disclaimer* I am not an audio professional, I merely am someone who enjoys listening to music and uses earbuds to do so.
I've been trying all sorts of earbuds out lately. In my efforts to exercise more, I've recognized that my attention span just can't handle running on its own. I have to have music or an audio book running if I have any hope of running for more than ten minutes at a time. While experiencing all these earbuds, I've come to recognize that price does not always mean anything.
So what does that mean? Well, I've got a pair of Acoustic Research headphones that are kind of pricey. They have decent sound output, etc. But the thing is, they're not really any better when it comes to quality of sound than this pair from EarPollution is. Or I'm just not saavy enough to tell the difference. So this pair, at a pretty cheap price, does well on sound quality. The noise cancelling abilities are average, since they're earbuds they block the ear canal from other noise, but these despite the name, don't seem to be designed for quality noise cancelling.
When you can get it to stay in your ears. My ears aren't funny shaped that I know of, but I have the worst time trying to get earbuds to stay in my ears, even if I am sitting still. This pair did an ok job at first, the memory foam expanding to fit and hold the earbud in. But then it did it's job a little too well. I pulled them out only to have the one tip stay in my ear (and thankfully was able to retrieve it). But they just kept popping off too easy and three weeks into owning these headphones, I lost some of the tips. And the more I wore them, the more they fell out of my ears, even before I lost the tips. This would happen whether I was exercising or just sitting at my desk so it wasn't a matter of movement. My though it the memory foam became compressed and didn't pop back out like it was supposed to so they became smaller and looser in the ear.
They are good looking headphones. I was drawn to them because of the bright red color and graphics. And the cord was a standard cord. It tangled like all the rest but not abnormally so. And they were long enough you could plug them into a computer and still be able to sit a few feet away. The packet says it's a 1.2 m cord. The cord plugs into most phones, iphones, computers, and other such devices. The stats from the box also say this has a 09 mm driver, a sensitivity of 98db plus or minus 3, a frequency response of 20hz-20khz and an impedence of 16.
So in conclusion, this pair of earbuds looks pretty and has decent sound, but it loses its ear tips easy and renders itself rather useless in a short amount of time. But at least it's cheap enough to replace. 3.5 stars from this user.
