Pros:Price, sound isolation
Cons:Broke after 2 weeks, anemic sound quality, uncomfortable fit.
The Bottom Line: Spend a little dough for something better, or spend less for something else you don't mind throwing away.
Two weeks after purchase "lefty" - the left ear bud- died. Deadski... Kaput... Kicked the bucket... Croaked... Choaked... Threw a clot... Went out with a soft thud?

Mind you, these headphones weren't rough-housed, or slapped around. I took good care of them, and never took my ipod beyond 1/4 total volume. So am I bitter? Maybe a little...
Since I didn't pay a heck of a lot for 'em I wasn't going to cry, but it still ticked me off that I didn't even get a month's worth of usage out of them. At the time of purchase after taxes the price was around $40, so is 4 weeks asking too much?
Like an idiot, I didn't save my receipt, so I couldn't return them.
I can't say I was impressed by the headphones during their 2 week life, the bass was "meh", the sound was hallow and somewhat tinny, music had no richness or depth, I suppose the word I'm looking for is "mediocre"... Not great, not terrible.
At least the sound isolation was good (blocked out roughly 60% of NYC subway noise!), but I can't say the earbuds were a comfortable fit. The rubber is rigid enough to cause a pressure-sore feeling inside the ear, even when using the smallest size. It is possible I have mutant-like teeny ear canals, so I don't want to blame JVC entirely for that. On two occasions the rubber popped off the earpiece and remained lodged inside my ear canal. Thank goodness for tweezers and sympathetic spouses.
Provided that I was indoors, I could have my ipod volume down to minimum and still hear the music rather clearly- despite lacking depth.
If these buds had lasted, the review would probably be 2.5-3 stars, but after petering out in a mere 14 day span my verdict is:
