This Kenwood KDC 348U deck is everything I expected and more. It is very cost effective, for only 100 dollars it offers great sound quality, a somewhat easy interface, and a sleek looking design.
I was very happy with the looks of the kenwood deck. I bought it to replace an older JVC deck that was in a car I recently purchased. The new Kenwood looks much better and sleeker. The black and red matches my cars dash very well, and if you are looking for a deck upgrade without sacrificing to much of the OEM color scheme then this will match any black interior well.
Kenwood prides themselves on their ipod capability with the KDC 348U deck. Along with the Aux. input there is also the USB port. The USB port will charge your device while playing music. The thing I found most useful is that you can still use your device while it is plugged into the deck. Although when your device is plugged into the deck you have to use the on screen interface to control music, which can sometimes be a hassle unless you have previously made a playlist.
Of course it can also play CD’s and radio both with good quality. It also has a removable faceplate that can be removed very easily and it comes with a cloth bag that you can put your faceplate in to prevent damage.
The deck itself has a 1 year warranty from the factory, and most places offer different warranties if you have it professionally installed.
Overall I am very happy with the purchase. It was a very inexpensive way to make my commuting more enjoyable, and to upgrade my car’s interior. For anyone looking to upgrade to a deck capable of playing their mobile device for cheap, this is definitely a great option.
