| mlindsay's Full Review: Camp Bernadette |
I was a camper at Bernie and I have incredible memories of camp. I made wonderful friends and had so many fun times. I still sing all the camp songs to my husband. Christmas in July was my favorite session but I also like Mardi-Gras, too. I always enjoyed all the activities and the extra things like plays and field trips. I loved the evening activities, and learning to ride horses. Trail rides were great and waking up in the morning to the bell was neat. I was a camper for eight years and it was really nice to always go back to "Bernie." I felt like I was really part of a community. It was fun to grow up there- starting as a Junior and finishing up as a Senior. I loved learning to canoe and sail and swim. Most of all, though, I really loved the singing. We used to sing after every meal... We'd sing as a camp, then as different divisions. Sometimes the counselors would sing and the C.I.T.s, too. It really made for a feeling of family. It simply cannot be described in words.
Just the other day, my Aunt (another former camper) and I found ourselves singing "Shrine" in the livingroom in my home. She has incredible memories, too.
Camp Bernadette really impacted my life in so many positive ways. From the friends I made to the other cultures I was able to learn about, I felt like I really belonged. I recommend it without hesitation. Don't even consider another camp! Really...
