I sent 2 out of 3 of my children in summer 2003 to Camp Frontier. Both of my children complained bitterly about the other children at this camp. The facility is rinky dink. ALL of the activities are basic. The camp boasted about arts and crafts - basically crayons and coloring books it what was offered. The owners told us there was a gym which turned out to be a slab of concrete outside in 95 degree weather. The counselors were not trained in ANY of the activities so the children were left to disorganized games and what appeared to be low class babysitting. The cabins are hot and full of spiders and bugs. The fans that the owners put in were broken and never functioned. At best, they would have been WAY too small to comfort anyone sleeping. The camp only had 2 working showers for the whole girls camp including counselors. The color war was run by CITs without any supervision or training to organize any activity. We were told there would be drama which was also run by untrained counselors. The highlight of the camp was the fieldtrips to the parks. During a trip to magic kingdom, a counselor was arrested for shoplifting and sent home but returned the following session. The most disturbing issue, however, was that one of the campers was physically abusing my daughter. She came home with large bruises. I spoke to Brian Collar several times and he acknowleged that this was taking place and that he would take care of it. He spoke to the child, but nothing ever changed. The child was allowed to stay. I would NEVER send any camper or tell any person to be a counselor and attend this facility. I wish I could get a refund but most of all I wish I NEVER sent either child to this camp.
