Cons: Saying good-bye to all of your friends when camp is over.
The Bottom Line: Every little girl should have the opportunity to experience Nakanawa in order to learn responsibility, a sense of independence and to find the true meaning of friendship.

I have been a camp counselor at Nakanawa since I was 17 years old. I am now heading on 23 and packing my bags again eager for yet another summer of bliss.
My very first summer at Nakanawa, I had no idea what to expect. A whole month sounded like a long time, and all girls sounded even worse!!! BUT, to my surprise, everybody all the other counselors were so excited to be there! All these unfamiliar terms and names that I did not understand were a bit confusing though. Everyone kept talking about Egypt and the Egypt Queens and the North Pole and the CB and Ann and Pepe and Mop. What Kind of names were Pepe and Mop anyway? Why didn't other counselors want to be Egypt Queens? It all sounded pretty good to me. Well, I soon figured out the answers to all my Questions and then the campers arrived! "Now what?", I wondered. Well, I didn't have to worry about that at all. These girls knew what they were doing. Almost all of them had been here before. New campers simply followed old campers and every body was happy!
The girls and I quickly got to know each other and laughter filled our cabin. We enjoyed many days together of swimming and baking in the sun, horseback riding, archery, talent shows, hiking, camping and eating backwards pie!
I only wished that I had heard about Nakanawa sooner so that I could have been a camper too!
