Double Stroller takes on Disney

Pros: side by side seats, lightweight, easy to fold and folds compactly

Cons: no storage

The Bottom Line: Great stroller! The only thing missing is the storage basket! I would recommend!

We purchased the Kolcraft Double reclining stroller for our recent trip to Walt Disney to be used by our 4 year old and 21/2 year old. We have a bulkier stroller with the front and back seats but we wanted a lightweight double stroller that reclined and had a canopy this one fit the bill.

I purchased this stroller online as I couldn't find one double umbrella stroller in any of our area stores. I was scared that it would be heavy, bulky and not close easily but I was pleasantly surprised. The stroller comes completely put together in the box when I reached in I pulled it out, not too heavy or bulky, opened it immediately with no problems all you do to open it is pick it up pull the seats down and with your foot click the bar down on the back of both seats. Closing it was just as simple, with the front of your foot you move the bars located on the bottom the back in and up and pull the seats to you then secure it with the lock located on the right side, I breathed a sigh of relief at the ease. That afternoon I decided to take it out to our local mall to make sure this was a good choice for Disney. Approached the first doorway with trepidation wondering if I would make it through with ease or would I have to maneuver like a wild woman. No problems made it right through breathed another sigh of relief. I pushed it through the mall and was actually able to fit in more aisles than I could with my front and back stroller and the wheels glided through the store with ease. The combined suggested weight for this stroller is 70lbs my girls are each about 35lbs so we are there and the stroller was still a breeze to push. While wandering the mall I actually passed a woman pushing two umbrella strollers attached with the umbrella stroller attacher and I swore hers looked wider. Both seats have 3 point safety straps that snap and open very easily actually a little too easy my 4 year old was letting herself out to get on rides.

In Disney we often used the canopies which hang on the back of both seats were simple to use, we would just swing them over when the sun got too much for the girls. The reclining feature really came in handy when they get tired. To recline the seat back you just unhook the plastic hooks located on both sides of both seats from the bars behind them and attach them to the bars that are farther back. You can recline just one seat at a time or both. Be sure to sit both seats up before you close the stroller or it doesn't fold as compactly or easily. The wheel locks are easy to use they are the typically step on locks and there are three of them one on each side and one in the middle. It was a snap to close and carry on the sometimes very crowded Disney buses and very easy to manuver through the crowded parks as we watched others struggle with their bulky front and back strollers we were even more pleased with our purchase.

The bad thing about this stroller is it offers no storage. I solved that by purchasing two stroller bags and hanging them on the back. I think for $60.00 actually $70.00 with shipping they could have at least put on a small basket.

While I haven't had this stroller very long it appears to be pretty durable as my little ones have given it quite a beating already and it stills looks like it just came out of the box. I also didn't find it tip as easy as some umbrella strollers while visiting Downtown Disney we had our stroller loaded with bags and when the girls got out the stroller stayed upright.

I would recommend this stroller to anyone looking for an easy to close, lightweight and easy to manuever double stroller.
