Pros: Lots of singing and humor
Cons: Half an hour long, not good for teens and adults
The Bottom Line: The Chipmunks are an average cartoon because kids in modern times want to see action and violence in cartoons, not three old rodents.

I'll be honest. Although I'm a Chipmunk fan, this cartoon is out of date in modern times.
If you're looking for a classic cartoon with lots of funny episodes, and a cartoon with three brown animals either singing their own songs, or singing their versions of other people's songs, "Alvin and the Chipmunks" is the best cartoon in that sense.
I used to watch this show a lot in the 1980's when I was a kid, and this was before the days of "The Simpsons," the Power Rangers, and X-men. This was during the days when kids loved watching lots of cartoons with tons of humor. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore will give you lots of humor indeed, especially since they're really three little boys in rodents' bodies.
The Chipmunks did a lot of things in their cartoons that I did when I was a kid, such as Alvin falling in love with his first-grade teacher, the three Chipmunks getting in trouble with their principal, and Alvin learning the hard way to put academics first over basketball.
I still love the Chipmunks, but I will admit this show is for little kids in modern times, not for teenagers or adults. They always do things little kids can relate to, not teens or adults. The best thing I like about the Chipmunks is their singing. Although they sound like little girls, one can't deny the fact they introduced musical groups in cartoons. I guess it's their singing that's keeping them on the Cartoon Network.
