mcommini's Full Review: Alvin and the Chipmunks
When I was in elementary school, this was a favorite of mine. The storyline and animation would probably appeal only to kids, and not adults, but that's what the show is designed for anyway! Alvin is a schemer who doesn't let anything stop him (often with disastrous, hilarious results). Simon is intellectual and serious. Theodore is silly, lovable, and . . . hungry! Then of course there are the Chipettes, each of whom is just like their male counterpart. There's Brittany, and Jeanette, and I can't remember the chubby one's name. The girls add appeal for little girls who might not otherwise watch the show. It's cute, the music is fun, and it's relatively safe viewing. There's nothing particularly educational at work here, though.
