| kligor's Full Review: Dragon Ball Z |
I went to my friend's house, and we played, and watched TV and had fun. Then, it came time for Dragonball Z. I thought, "You still watch cartoons? Oh well, I won't say anything." I decided to watch the cartoon and not criticize my friend.
Half an hour later, I was astonished. It was so amazing! Of course, since I didn't watch Dragonball Z from the beginning, I had no idea what's going on, and how the whole thing got started. I asked my friend, and then I had to go to various websites, to understand what was going on.
The plot is far too deep (and that's what makes it so good) to summarize. Though, I can tell you how the whole thing got started. The first episodes were called simply "Dragonball", and it was about a young kid named Goku, who is in search for Dragonballs. When you collect seven dragonballs, you get to make three wishes.
While travelling around the Earth in a search for dragonballs, he runs into all kinds of trouble. Little do his enemies know, that Goku is the strongest fighter in the world. He even defeated the entire Red Ribbon Army. And he ran into general Tao, who at first seemed really tough, but after Goku shot the KAMAYHAMAYHA (sorry, I don't know how to spell it) wave, Goku just gave General Tao the old "punching bag", and it caused general Tao to flee and not even look back.
The plot for Dragonball Z is far more complicated, but anyway, here it is: Now, Goku is a young man, with a child much like Goku himself, named Gohan, and his wife, Chi Chi. But let's not forget the other Z fighters, and Goku's friends. They are Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha, Trunks (shows up a little later in the show), Krillin, and Vegeta who considers himself too good for the gang.
I definitely cannot summarize the plot for Dragonball Z, but I can do the next best thing. I can give you a link to a website that is dedicated to specifically to Dragonball Z. In there, you can find everything you want such as pictures, power levels, episode summaries, and links to other Dragonball Z sites. Anyway, here it is:

One more thing I would like to say about the English version of Dragonball Z, is that FUNimation changed the original, Japanese version. But, in FUNimation's defence, I would like to say, that some of it is a good thing that they did change the original.
For the following reasons:
1. In the original Dragonball Z version, they have some Japanese traditions, which will not be understood in English.
2. In Dragonball Z (and not Dragonball without the "z") they have some language, and images, which will not be appropriate to younger or sensitive viewers.
But the bad thing about Dragonball Z (and this beats all the good things) is that FUNimation took out a number of episodes, so it is difficult to understand what is going on, on the next episode that FUNimation airs.
Even though FUNimation changed it a bit, it is still my favourite show, and I just can't miss it. I would give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could. With this action packed cartoon, you won't be bored for the time that you are watching the show. All day, I look forward to watching the next episode of Dragonball Z.
I would recommend Dragonball Z to teenagers and adults. I wouldn't recommend this to any kids, because there is far too much violence. A few planets were blown up, and a specific example is when android 17 kicks Dr. Gero's head off. Have fun watching this astonishing cartoon.
