The Little Mermaid (Series)cartoon show can be found on the Disney channel during the day, and some time on weekends at times. My daughter some time watches this show when she can't find her regular shows that she watches. My four year old daughter enjoyed the movie The Little Mermaid so this is some thing that she does like to watch. However she could tell Ariel's voice id different than it was in the movie.
This show is based on a teenage girl/mermaid who wishes she could live out of water. Under seas however she finds herself facing a lot of new and different adventures. She is a daughter of the sea King. Her best friends are Sabastian the crab and Flounder the fish.
Each show is colorful and vibrant. The characters are very well drawn. They look exactly like they do in the movie. Much like the movie, The Little Mermaid The Series has a lot of music and singing in it. Maybe not every episode, but most. It does teach a lesson here and there about selfishness, behavior and more. Not in every episode though, just some that I have noticed.
The adventures they go on do happen in every episode of The Little Mermaid The Series. Some times they are saving some one or a creature of some kind. Other times they are protecting the sea. And some times they are in search of some thing amazing, treasures and objects that Ariel likes to collect.
The Little Mermaid The Series is not meant to be educational. It is more meant to entertain, and it does do that. It is a cute and fun cartoon to watch. My daughter's favorite character. Other than Ariel of course, if Flounder. The happy little yellow and blue striped fish that accompanies Ariel on all of her major adventures. Flounder seems to be just as important as Ariel is.
One episode I just recently saw with my daughter, was one where Ariel was searching for treasure. She and Flounder had found a crown with one jewel on it and the others were missing. Ariel wanted to find them to complete this beautiful treasure that they had found. However, what they didn't know was that it was a trap set by the evil sea which to capture Ariel. You have to watch and see weather Ariel gets captured or not.
The Little Mermaid The Series is just entertaining and fun to watch. I have watched quite a few episodes with my daughter, all which really kept you waiting to see what would happen. And unlike some cartoons and shows, it isn't always the ending you thought that it was going to be. Making it more interesting and less predictable in the long run, and more interesting to the viewers to watch.
There is a little bit of violence, a fish being hit on the head with some thing or a whale losing a few teeth when some thing is thrown or he crashes in to some thing. Thins like that. Nothing too horrible. Nothing that would make me stop letting my daughter watch. Just explain to your child that these things are just make believe and can not be done at home.
I do highly recommend The Little Mermaid The Series. It is a good cartoon.
