Pros:The "BEST" Show ever!!!!!!!

Cons:I wish that they had a couple more seasons and a better ending!

This will be a long Epinion, one of the longest I have ever written to date. I was watching the Super Bowl in 1988 when I saw a preview for this Pilot about the 60's through a boy's eyes, I have always been into the 50's and 60's sitcoms as well as the newer ones. I was hooked from the first glance. I was very pleased that ABC picked the show up for so long, butt was disappointed when they pulled the plug on it and how they ended the series. I started watching the series from beginning to end and I am going to be 100% honest here, I was going through 75% of the stuff that Kevin was going through, the girl problems, the bullies, the friends and so much more. I found the show very well written and the props made it look so lifelike. The main characters were Jack and Norma Arnold, their two boys Wayne and Kevin, and then the daughter Karen. Other cast included Paul P, Kevin's friend and Winnie Cooper, Kev's On and Off girlfriend. The Narrator through the series was Daniel Stern from Home Alone and Coupe DeVille.

There are soooo many episodes that I love the most, but every episode is great, you have "The Walk-Out" where Kevin and the Student Council plan a walk-out against the war amd Mr. Diperna warns them that anyone that goes forward with the walk-out will have a mark on their permanent record (Mr. Diperna's favorite quote). "Kevin Delivers" was very funny, I remember the parts where Kev starts singing to the radio and he looks over and sees a car full of girls giggling and then turns red LOL. Then you have the sad eps such as "Pilot" and "Swingers" where Winnie's brother, Brian was sent to Viet Nam over the summer and was killed the first day that Kev and Winnie attended Jr. High, then my favorite episode ever..."The Accident" where Winnie starts hanging around with some High School Juniors and is involved in a car accident, breaking her leg.The best part of all is where Kevin rushed over to Winnie's and waits for her to come home, after her mom sends him away but returns later, then climbs on to the roof to Winnie's window and then he whispers "I Love You" and then she whispers back as Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight" is playing til the credits roll.

If you want a good family show, something to relive your childhood, something to just enjoy on a rainy day, then this series is a must! I am currently getting all the eps on tape, and there are some great sources on the net for "TWY" info. The best site is http://wybook.cjb.net/ and there are many links to other sites from there as well as a couple sites with scripts that people have written for the final episode and I think there are a couple from one area of the series. The music was also a big part of the show, I have the 5CD set and I always have it playing when I am just kickin back or just winding down. I have seen several members of the show go on to do other things since the series ended, Dan Lauria has made appearances on shows and I heard he was doing a show for Cinemax or Showtime about Basketball, Fred Savage was on the short lived working where Danica McKellar made two appearances on as well, and no Josh Saviano is NOT Maryalin Manson :-) Danica has her own website at www.danicamckellar.com through a teen related site. Jason Hervey also made an appearance on Working and is into Wrestling and has been to several WCW events, and finally Ben Stein (the science teacher) is doing the clear eyes commercials and has his own game show on Comedy Central.

In closing I could go on and on about this show and tell you all the favorite scenes I have from many of the eps, but I am going to stop here and let you check the site out that I mentioned. I have two all time favorite shows, Who's The Boss and The Wonder Years, yeah they are oldies, but were part of my childhood growing up :-)
