| .Brooke.'s Full Review: Caitlin's Way |
Out of the depths of nonsense cartoons like Sponge Bob Square Pant and ridiculous shows like All That comes a fresh new show, Caitlin's Way. When I first saw the advertisement for this show, I thought it looked pretty good. As I watched the first episode, I realized it was beyond good, it was just what Nick needed.
Caitlin's Way is about... well.. Caitlin! Caitlin is a teen girl who gets in a lot of trouble living in Philedelphia. She has a choice of whether she wants to go to jail or move to Montana with some relatives that she's never met. She doesn't want to do either, but she picks moving to Montana. It's quite a change for Caitlin out in the middle of nowhere, as she's used to living in the big city. She absolutely hates it at first, until she finds her soul mate, Bandit. Bandit is a wild horse who not only saves Caitlin from a wolf but befriends her. It's a very neat comparison that they use with these characters, as Caitlin and Bandit were both wild and now they're to be "tamed" so to speak.
Caitlin gets along with her family most of the time, but she has a few conflicts with Griffen, her cousin. They're the same age but they have totally different personalities. Caitlin is the rebel, Griffen is the popular good guy. He catches a lot of slack for hanging out with his cousin, so he tries to keep away from her at school as much as possible. He's also in love with Caitlin's enemy, Taylor, the most popular girl in school. He gets upset with Caitlin as she and Taylor have their show downs.
This show is excellent for young adults, as it shows how this girl copes with such a gigantic change and manages to get along. The message that it sends out is really to never give up... even if you're in trouble. I hope this show is around for a long time, because I honestly enjoy it.
