Little Bill is one of the sweetest children's shows I've ever seen. Bill Cosby, the mastermind behind Fat Albert and more, has created a delightful program which is not only entertaining but educational. Five year old Little Bill is in kindergarten and is curious about everything. He has a questioning nature and is constantly learning new things. Whether learning about sharing, counting, good manners, or other positive values and knowledge, Little Bill will captivate your heart and your youngster's attention.
The animation is unique, a refreshing change from the norm. The characters are entertaining and Little Bill is lovable. His sister, brother, parents, and other family members can regularly be seen on the show, and I like his mother's approach to encouraging her children to figure out things among themselves, as it teaches them to think for themselves, helps them learn to take turns, and more. She is always there for advice and affection, but allows her children to learn from their experiences without being overly involved. She has a fine balance of love and discipline in her parenting approach, as does their father. A good role model for parents and children alike.
I also like the fact that the show stresses the importance of a strong family unit. This is an extremely important area, as a close family unit fosters positive growth in a child. The qualities the family possess are good examples to watch, and their love for one another lies at the center of it all.
This is one of my son's favorite shows, although he's not yet two. As he grows with Little Bill, I will be able to watch along with him, and emphasize the positive aspects of the show as he watches. If you haven't seen it yet, please give it a try. It's an uplifting half hour, complete with two programs that will make you and your little one smile. Little Bill's charm, apparent in his trademark laugh, is abundant, and he loves to learn, a wonderful role model for any child to watch. This one will touch your heart and engage your child's mind!
