Pros: Funny. No stupid moral lessons.
Cons: Comes on at a bad time.
The Bottom Line: If you like silly, dark humor, you will so appreciate the greatness of the porous one.

I would like to consider myself a connoisseur of sorts, especially when it comes to cartoons. One great thing about being a parent is watching cartoons and playing with toys with your kids. My daughter absolutely LOVES Nickelodeon. Sure, I would watch the cartoons that came on. Like; Rocket Power, Rugrats and The Wild Thornberries. Blah! Then about six months ago, all has changed.
Call me a bad parent and I'll throw a bowl of oatmeal at you, but cartoons are cartoons. I am so sick of these morality lessons in cartoons. Parents should teach morals, values and integrity; not a dancing frog. That said, Sponge Bob is simply one of the best cartoons ever created.
My daughter can relate to the "Tom and Jerry-esqueness" of the show (anvil to head and the likes), and I can appreciate the dark humor Sponge Bob creates.
Those of you from the old school, will definatley appreciate this. Remember the good 'ole days of "Road Runner", "Bugs Bunny" and "Scooby Doo"? Well, good cartoons are back.
Here is a quick glimpse of the cartoon. The show takes place on the ocean floor at "Bikini Bottom". The characters are: Sponge Bob (a sponge). His best buddy Patrick (a starfish). The annoyed neighbor Squidward (a squid). Mr. Krabs who works at the Krusty Krab. And we can't forget about Sponge Bobs pet snail "Gary".
Sponge Bob and Squidward both work at the Krusty Krab. Much of the show revolves the 'ole Krusty Krab. Patrick well.. he just wanders around... Sponge Bob and Patrick's favorite past-time is "Jellyfishing". Sponge Bob and Patrick take nets and catch jelly-fish. It is hilarious. Other characters enter in the antics too. Like Sandy the Texas Squirel. She comes to visit in her "space suit" so she can breathe underwater. You will also see cameo appearences of "Pearl". Pearl is a whale and is Mr. Krabs daughter. Don't ask, cuz I just don't know... heheh.
This added together makes for one of the funniest shows on television. I emplore you all to at least watch a couple episodes of Sponge Bob. I honestly watch the show and laugh out loud. It is THAT funny. I am waiting for the day when I can buy the shows on DVD. Merchandise for Sponge Bob is slowing emerging, but still it is hard to find.
I promise after watching the show for a while, you will soon be quoting lines from Sponge Bob and laughing at yourself.
