katopasna's Full Review: Angel Line Jenny Lind Crib
The first time I bought an EvenFlo Jenny Lind Crib was 11 years ago for my son. That crib cost me $315.00 in Guam. I was so amazed to find out that 11 years later I can buy the exact same thing for $89.00 in the states!
We were debating on what type of crib to get. I kind of wanted a convertible crib, one that would just convert into a toddler bed when my daughter got old enough, but I couldn’t see paying $250.00 plus for it. Call me cheap but if I could buy a crib for under a $100.00 and a regular toddler bed for around $50.00 that made more sense. Plus I knew that I would reuse “this" crib since I planned on having another child before she my girl turned 3.
Other than paying $315.00 for my first EvenFlo Jenny Lind Crib, I have yet to have a problem with either one of them. This crib meets all Consumer Safety Product Standards and carries the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association Seal of Approval meaning there is no lead based paint used and all slats are no more then 2 3/8” apart. Rest assure your child’s head or body won’t get stuck.
Other Great Features
A Noise-Free rail with a Touch and Toe Release System: This makes putting a sleeping baby to bed a breeze when your hands are full.
4 adjustable mattress heights: This feature comes in handy for when your baby becomes a toddler and wants to stand up. (It will deter the climbing out a period just a little longer). Adjusting the height is also simple enough, I never really had a problem doing it.
Wheels: Yes these cribs as should all cribs have wheels. This makes moving it around the room so much easier. (Remember to never move the crib with a child in it).
Plastic teething rails: The two top rails are covered with plastic to help protect the wood and your child’s gum when she starts gnawing on it.
A standard size crib mattress will fit nice and snug in it too.
Installation
Putting this crib together wasn’t too difficult. I offered to do it since I am the handy (wo)man around the house but my husband insisted he do it since he was going to be away most of my pregnancy. And he did it with only minor problems, right there tells me assembly isn't too difficult. I would recommend making sure there are 2 people available for this, just because there are big pieces to deal with. The 2 problems we did have with it, were that one of the wholes the rod slips through wasn’t drilled all the way and the location of the holes for the screws. They are placed in some restricted areas and they do not provide a tool to help you with this. I do have a decent set of tools but I didn’t have a Philip driver short enough or angled to fit in to this space. I would recommend making sure you have an angled driver or some sort of ratchet with the Philip driver attachment to make it much simpler.
