I loved the idea of the drawer when I bought the crib but quickly went out and bought a long crib skirt. We kick up quite a bit of dust here too (more my housekeeping than the weather) and I knew it was going to be necessary to somehow cover the drawer.
Thanks for your comment!!

Thanks for the comment!! I am just dying for three consecutive hours of sleep. However, this little one is my third baby and I am just loving this time because I know how fast it goes.

Thanks for your comment. Mine actually uses that tool. I wish it had wing nuts. The other annoyance is that Allen wrenches apparently are not standard size. I have a few of them lying around in all different sizes. The one for this crib is huge so I have to hold on to the tool that came with it.
It seems that they are variations to this model of crib.

"...there is no top to the storage drawer."
Excellent point. My crib doesn't have one of these storage drawers, but I think it's a practical idea, and I've even considering having a drawer retro-fitted to my existing crib. Although, I'll have to rethink it if a second comes along as the lack of a top would drive me nuts with the dust issues we have here in Arizona. Thanks for bringing to it my attention.
Excellent review, as always.

I love that you included a lot of personal experience with this crib, and several times mention "This isn't the crib for you if..."

Allen wrench vs. wingnuts (Reply to this comment)
by pilotpat
I've had a Pali for the past 6 years (on its third kid and second move now - one overseas), and ours requires the Allen wrench to move the mattress base. The wingnuts, or better yet, winged bolts would be a great addition. One note: In our first move with the crib, the movers lost one of the bolts and we had a terrible time trying to find a replacement - they're metric and no one seems to carry them in the US. Instead, I bought a set of bolts with flathead screwdriver ends as replacements for the mattress spring mounts - much easier to use and they're concealed so the fact that they're not flush isn't a problem with aesthetics or enterprising toddlers.
Thanks for the review, and when you move next, make sure the guys put ALL the screws in a bag!

The L-shaped tool is an Allen wrench, and you don't actually need it to lower the mattress support... that is done using wing nuts on screws. The Allen wrench is only used for the crib assembly.
