Pros:Picks up cat fur, rinses clean, cheaper than paper lint rollers
Cons:Keeping it sticky can be a problem, don't like rinsing fur down my sink
The Bottom Line: Be careful about rinsing fur down the sink! But this does do a good job of removing cat fur, and it is a cheaper alternative overall.
We have a long haired cat who is shedding a lot right now, and although I brush her with the Furminator cat brush, I can't keep up with the cat hair. It's everywhere.

Several days ago I went with my husband to one of his doctors visits. I was reading a Readers Digest magazine, and the Sticky Buddy was one of the products that Readers Digest was reviewing. They gave it high marks, and I filed the info away in my head.
Funny how things happen, but just an hour later we were shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I saw the Sticky Buddy. Normally I would bypass these kinds of products, but because it was rated highly in RD, I gave it a try. It retailed for $10.99.
* It has built in fingers that reach deep into carpet
* Great for pet hair
* Pick up! Rinse! Repeat!
* Use on clothing, couches, carpets, comforters, car seats, and more
I was able to try this on all of the items that the manufacturer recommended. Clothing? Check. Couches? Check. Carpets, comforters, and car seats? Check, check, check.
The first run was wonderful. I used it on the backs of our recliners, where our long haired cat loves to sleep. The yellow sticky roller is nice and fat and picks up a lot of hair in one sweep.
When the roller was saturated with pet hair and wouldn't pick up anything else, I ran it under the faucet and all of the pet hair came off, falling into the sink. I do suggest users be careful at this point so you don't sacrifice a plugged drain for a clean couch.
I used it on my black dress pants this morning and it did a good job of removing lint and cat hair, leaving my pants quite clean. It works well on our bedspread and sheets (Bitsy likes to get under our covers at night!).
How about cleaning it? Well, the directions say to shake the Sticky Buddy until it's dry, or run it over a lint free towel to dry it off. None of my towels are lint free, and I had the best luck drying it off using a cotton baby diaper instead of a towel.
Once it's dry you then put the plastic cover back on, but it doesn't snap on very tightly. I store this under the kitchen sink and I'm not worried about the cover coming off, but some people may find this annoying.
The second time I attempted to use the Sticky Buddy I was very disappointed. The roller surface wasn't nearly as tacky as it was when I took it out of the box. It didn't pick up very much cat fur, and didn't pick up any cereal residue in my granddaughters car seat. Hmmmm, I wasn't a happy camper!
My husband put it in the microwave and heated it up for 5 seconds and the sticky-tacky surface reappeared! I have found it's best to rinse the roller off under warm to hot water, which helps it to retain the sticky factor.
There is a small yellow brush with rubber fingers attached to the head of the roller, and this actually works well to lift cat hair out of carpet fibers so they can then be picked up with the Sticky Buddy. The carpet in front of our two recliners gets worn down more than other areas of our living room carpet, and Bitsy loves to sit at our feet, so we get more cat hair there as well. The brush is a wonderful carpet fluffer! It raises the fibers and makes the carpet look new again. Removing excess dirt and hair from deep in the carpet will make our carpet last longer.
The Sticky Buddy works fairly well, but not nearly the miracle product that it is shown to be in the infomercials I found on youtube. Using it is a cheaper alternative to using those masking tape like lint rollers.
It isn't always easy to clean, and some rubbing is necessary to remove all of the cat fur. Still, overall I do like the Sticky Buddy and find it useful to have around the home.
The added travel size Sticky Buddy is great to carry in the car, and it folds up to a 5" long size so it's very compact.
