Pros:Durable (for the price) comfortable, and good sound quality
Cons:Slide adjuster snags hair
The Bottom Line: Recommend Koss headphones hands down, great experience even with cheap headphones
I've had several pairs of headphones over the years and I have to say this has been one of the best ones I've had. Granted, I generally buy in the somewhat low-ish end of the spectrum, so I've had several bad experiences as one may assume. Before this one, I had another Koss pair that was behind-the-neck band variety. It lasted for a long time until the foam ear pads fell apart from old age.

Since I wear glasses, it's hard to find a "behind-the-neck-band" variety that fits well-some almost seem DESIGNED to be uncomfortable for wearers of glasses! Not to mention that my newer CD walkman came with horrible "clip" headphones that would probably severely deform your ear if worn for more than 30 seconds! :) Maybe a scam to drive people to have cosmetic surgery to fix their now alien-looking, deformed ears, thus more money to the hospitals that do this type of surgery? :D
With that said, I've decided to go with the traditional over the head type. I paid around $15- for this, and it lasted pretty darn long. The ear cushions were soft-more so than my current pair (same style, $10, but it's a sony, all black) but still foam as opposed to that sort of "leather/rubber O ring" type that's generally seen on more expensive headphones. And, they didn't come off accidentally, which is good because that could get annoying during portable use and eventually they'd get lost.
If there was any problem I had with these foam ear pads, it's that they'd get full of hair and crap fast due to their "meshy" nature, and every now and again you may find yourself picking it all out so it's not causing itches or because it looks gross!
The headphones could "click-slide" to different sizes to fit your head well. Unfortunately, the slide-adjuster design is bad because there's plenty of space for hair to tangle in it- the "clicker/retainer" is cut into the plastic on the INSIDE, so your hair WILL get caught in this thing! Such things are all too common with headphones of this price range. If things like this are going to annoy you you're going to want to save up and spend a little more!
Despite these minor annoyances, I liked these headphones and I used them almost daily, and they lasted about 2 years. First thing that happened was the slide adjuster on one side became "loose"- that is, it would slide much too easily by accident, even further increasing the likelihood of hair entanglement! I managed to fix that for a while until the slide adjuster part (the same one that had loosened up) began to crack-in several directions, meanwhile the other side had "loosened up". I attempted to fix them which again worked for a little while but then the plastic in those areas started to deform, and crack severely, until the headphones seperated completely with the wires dangling!
Now, why did I give it 4 stars if it fell apart on me like that? because they lasted almost 2 years despite the low price! If you're really looking for high quality and durability, check out Koss-especially higher end stuff (certainly higher than this!:)
