Do Panda's Make Noise? - Lamaze High-Contrast Panda Rattle
Written: Mar 28 '13
Pros:cute, high contrast colors, easy to hold
Cons:rattle not very loud, hard to keep clean, crinkle not very loud
The Bottom Line: For me the Lamaze High-Contrast Panda Rattle is an average rattle. My grandson likes it but it not my favorite.
My daughter in laws theme for her baby shower was panda’s. She loves pandas so this was no surprise. When I found the Lamaze High-Contrast Panda Rattle, I knew I had to purchase it. It not only fit her theme, but I knew she would love it because it was a panda.
The Lamaze Panda Rattle is a soft rattle that is round and has two sides of play. The front side looks like a panda. It is black and white and is holding green bamboo ribbons. If you turn the rattle over it has a red silky pattern to it. The rattle is a good size for small hands. The Lamaze Panda Rattle has a rattle, makes crinkle sounds and has a ribbon. My grandson is five months old and the rattle is easy for him to hold. I do like that the rattle is made of soft material so when my grandson tries to put it in his mouth and bops himself in the head it doesn’t hurt.
The Lamaze Panda Rattle is black and white so it holds my grandson’s attention. The rattle is holding up to everyday use. One thing I don’t like about the Lamaze Panda Rattle is the material. I like that it is a soft material so that when my grandson misses his mouth, it doesn’t smack him in the head but the material tends to get dirty quicker. Other types of rattles are easier to clean because you can run them under water and wipe them off. To clean the Lamaze Panda Rattle you must put it in the washing machine. This is a pain every time it gets dirty. I would prefer a rattle that I could clean daily by washing it by hand.
Another thing I don’t like about the Lamaze Panda Rattle is that the rattle is very soft. Even if you shake it vigorously, it doesn’t make a lot of noise. This doesn’t seem to be a problem for my grandson but I wish it was a bit louder of a rattle. Also if you touch the ears or hands they make a crinkle sound which is not very loud either.
I purchased the Lamaze Panda Rattle online for $5.99. I didn’t look in stores for this; I found it online and purchased it. I thought the price was reasonable. I think the Lamaze Panda Rattle would make a nice present for any baby or for a baby shower.
The Lamaze Panda Rattle is recommended for children newborn to six months old. Obviously a young baby will not be able to hold the rattle but my grandson, even at a month old, liked to have the rattle shock for him.
The only thing with rattles in general is that babies don’t play with them for that long. It is nice to have a few on hand but it is not something we went crazy buying my grandson. The Panda Rattle is easy to take anywhere. I have placed it in the diaper bag and put it right in his car seat.
I have mixed feelings about the Lamaze Panda Rattle. My grandson likes it and I do like that it has the high contrast colors which seem to catch his eye. He enjoys playing with it and putting it in his mouth. Personally I wish it was easier to clean and made more noise.
For me the Lamaze High-Contrast Panda Rattle is an average rattle. My grandson likes it but it not my favorite.
